Rotaract D2130

"Beirut Stay Strong" is een Fundraising actie van de lokale Rotaract Clubs in Libanon die werd opgericht na de enorme explosie die op 4 augustus 2020 in de haven van Beiroet plaatsvond.

De explosie leidde tot de verwoestende vernielingen in meerdere wijken, waarbij honderden mensen omkwamen en duizenden gewond raakten en zonder huis of onderdak achterbleven. Daarnaast heeft Libanon de afgelopen maanden ook te lijden gehad onder ernstige economische onrust en de COVID-19-pandemie.

In “normale omstandigheden” zou de lokale overheid in actie schieten en het volk helpen, de infrastructuur opnieuw opbouwen, voedsel en water bedelen, hospitalen heropbouwen …

We kunnen echter niet zeker zijn over een samenwerking met de autoriteiten. De inwoners beseffen dat ze op zichzelf zijn aangewezen.
Verschillende Rotary en Rotaract districten hebben intussen financiële en materiële hulp aangeboden. Vanuit het Rotaract district D2130 willen we ook ons steentje bijdragen.

De Rotaract clubs in Libanon zijn een crowdfunding campagne gestart ‘Beirut Stay Strong’.
Graag zouden we met alle clubs van ons district een bijdrage leveren (100€ à 200€ per club).
Alle info vind je terug op hun pagina. Betalen gebeurt via PayPal. Vermeld zeker jouw club en D2130 bij de betaling.

ROTARY SERVICE CONNECTIONS - CROWDFUNDING!

You can use the new crowdsourcing platform in two ways: contribute to projects in need of assistance or post your own.

1.    Contribute to Projects

Browse projects seeking partners, funds, volunteers or material contributions. Anyone in the world can contribute to projects posted in Rotary’s new crowdsourcing platform. In order to contribute, sign in to My Rotary and click Take Action -> Support a project. Non-Rotarians can contribute by signing in using Google or Facebook.

To search for projects, click on Browse Projects. There you will find a list of the active projects with a short description, with newest projects listed first. You can narrow your search using any of the filters on the left side of the screen. You can search by keyword, category, or project language. Use keyword search to search for a particular location.

2.    Post Your Club’s Project Seeking Assistance

Club officers can post projects in need of partners, funds, volunteers or material contributions  which you can also promote on Twitter, Facebook, or your club’s web page.

Use a compelling project title and include a detailed description to inspire visitors to support your project. Set clear goals and clearly define the resources needed to achieve your goals. We strongly recommended you include a picture, free of copyright issues, with your project listing.
