Donor Recognition Events at the 2012 RI Convention

   The annual Arch C. Klumph Society dinner hosted by Rotary Foundation Chair William Boyd was held at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Bangkok. Guests enjoyed a cocktail reception and dinner before spending the night mingling with fellow society members. RI President Kalyan Banerjee offered a toast to everyone in attendance and RI General Secretary John Hewko introduced the newly qualified members from the 2011-12 Rotary year. A highlight of the evening was an announcement by society member, Mrs. Rajashree Birla, who pledged an additional US$1 million donation for polio eradication efforts.

The 19th annual Major Donor Dinner hosted by the Trustees of The Rotary Foundation was held at the Shangri-La Hotel in Bangkok. Approximately 700 Major Donors, Rotary Foundation’s Board of Trustees, and other distinguished guests enjoyed a lovely evening of dinner and dancing. Attendees were treated to a special video which featured Rotarians, Peace Fellows, and beneficiaries of the Foundation’s grants thanking everyone for their continued support.

Lastly, the 11th annual Bequest Society Reception was held at the Impact Convention Center. Society members enjoyed light hors d'oeuvres and cocktails while listening to traditional Thai music.
